Michael’s interest in volunteering stems from decades of active involvement in not-for-profit organisations in the education sector, primarily Before & After School Care, and on Primary School Councils, plus surf life saving and local community sports clubs. Michael has spent over 40 years in financial services, including CEO and Managing Director roles in investment banking, trading and funds management. His experience covers all aspects of business, from strategy development and execution through to mergers and divestments.
In his career Michael's success has been largely in driving business growth. Whilst serving on the Asia-Pacific Management Committee for Fidelity International when CEO of their Australia/New Zealand business, Michael took a great interest in the development of the investment services governance systems for multiple countries in the region. Michael has a BA in Economic & Financial Studies and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Michael is also the Chair of ABV’s Finance Committee
