Rita is a Climate Finance and Business Development advisor with extensive knowledge and skills in development policy and operations. This lawyer/economist/business manager progressed through positions during her 19 years with the multi-lateral Asian Development Bank including Country Director (Sri Lanka) and Financial Sector Practice Lead where she coordinated financial sector reform programs in Asia/Pacific. She is engaged in various projects including SME business & digital literacy skills in PNG. Rita is a member of the Assurance Oversight Committee of CGIAR, the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. Prior to ADB she held positions as Vice President, Risk Assessment with the National Securities Clearing Corporation in New York; as Manager and General Counsel at the Securities Exchanges Guarantee Corporation Ltd; and in the Australian Federal Attorney-General’s Department, Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) State Solicitor’s Office, and Australian and PNG law firms.
Ms. O’Sullivan holds Arts/Law and Economics degrees and a Masters of Laws from the University of Queensland, and graduate diplomas in applied finance and investment. She is a barrister and solicitor, at the High Court of Australia, and the Supreme Courts of ACT, QLD, & NSW and a lawyer at the National Court of Justice, PNG. Rita is a longtime yoga practitioner, a lover of classical music, and researcher of diverse cultural studies, preferably undertaken in-country.
