An executive for over 25 years across different industries, including large ASX firms, Michellene is a transformational leader who specialises in business strategy and change management.

With an MBA and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Michellene is a seasoned board member providing strategic advice to relative stakeholders. A trusted advisor, Michellene has consulted to global organisations including Allianz Insurance and Deloitte and most recently invited to partake in the ‘Women On Boards’ ASX Program.

Ask Michellene what she enjoys best about being on boards and her answer is to work collaboratively with great teams to adapt, align and implement strategy into action.

Specific to ABV, Michellene also serves on the Finance and Audit Committee.

Rita is a Climate Finance and Business Development advisor with extensive knowledge and skills in development policy and operations. This lawyer/economist/business manager progressed through positions during her 19 years with the multi-lateral Asian Development Bank including Country Director (Sri Lanka) and Financial Sector Practice Lead where she coordinated financial sector reform programs in Asia/Pacific. She is engaged in various projects including SME business & digital literacy skills in PNG. Rita is a member of the Assurance Oversight Committee of CGIAR, the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. Prior to ADB she held positions as Vice President, Risk Assessment with the National Securities Clearing Corporation in New York; as Manager and General Counsel at the Securities Exchanges Guarantee Corporation Ltd; and in the Australian Federal Attorney-General’s Department, Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) State Solicitor’s Office, and Australian and PNG law firms.

 Ms. O’Sullivan holds Arts/Law and Economics degrees and a Masters of Laws from the University of Queensland, and graduate diplomas in applied finance and investment. She is a Barrister and Solicitor, High Court of Australia, and the Supreme Courts of ACT, QLD, & NSW and a Lawyer, National Court of Justice, PNG. Rita is a longtime yoga practitioner, a lover of classical music, and researcher of diverse cultural studies, preferably undertaken in-country. 

Volunteering has always been at the forefront of Evelyn’s life from “Cents for Service” as a young Girl Guide, to raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for a new library at her local school, over 20 years as the Team Leader of her local Community Fire Unit and now as an Australian Business Volunteer. With ABV, Evelyn has mentored emerging women leaders in both Tonga and Solomon Islands and has played a role in the Strategic Roadmap for a business community of Nauru.

 

With close to 40 years of management consulting experience, the last 15 as the Managing Director of Learning Ventures, Evelyn understands the commercial realities of business and can now combine these with her love of volunteering to nurture and coach other business communities to be resilient and successful.

 

Evelyn is the volunteer representative on the ABV Board.

Helen's wealth of experience and deep commitment to community, diversity, and inclusion make her an outstanding addition to ABV's esteemed board. A highly regarded leader and former CEO of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, Helen has spent a decade in legal practice and 18 years in the corporate sector. Her diverse directorships in health, transport, and superannuation sectors showcase her commitment to community service, fairness, and inclusion.

John Edwards has held Senior Executive/Leadership and Board/ Advisory roles in both engineering and technology firms, as well as a number of start-ups and early-stage businesses.

He has held Partnership and VP roles in international management consulting

firms in Australia, Asia, and Europe, with a strong focus on business transformation, strategic marketing, and the business impact of technology. His Executive roles have included PA Consulting Group (Senior Partner – UK and Asia Pacific), Ernst & Young (Lead Partner Australia: Technology, Media & Entertainment Consulting), Capgemini (CEO AsiaPac, Telecom & Media Consulting), Motorola (VP and Head of Professional Services and Asia Networks business), and BTS (MD Australasia). He is a Fellow of both the Australian (AICD) and UK (IOD) Directors’ Institutes and has extensive experience as a Non- Executive Director and Chair. John has an Honours Degree in Production Engineering and an MBA from the Wharton School in the USA.
