ABOUT US

ABV is all about putting practical business support behind community-led ideas. We team up with locals, listen first, and walk alongside them to help make things happen—whether strengthening a community group, starting a small business, planning for disaster recovery, or getting the right governance in place.

Our 300+ business professionals volunteer their time and expertise, backed by corporate and government partners who care about real impact. We believe that when communities lead and business backs them, great things happen—stronger towns, better jobs, and more chances for everyone to thrive.

Because the strongest communities are the ones which are supported to lead their own change.

HISTORY

We’ve been helping communities build stronger futures for over 40 years—using real-world business skills to make a difference where it matters. Since 1981, ABV has sent more than 5,300 skilled volunteers on projects across 35 countries.

That includes 175 projects here in Australia, supporting over 30 local communities—from the bushfires and floods of regional NSW to First Nations communities in WA.

Our people bring the business smarts—like planning, budgeting, marketing, and leadership training—that help locals turn their ideas into action.
